![]() Dramamine could not save us from the atrociously uncomfortable airplane seats on our overnight flight, so while we waited for our hotel room to be ready we wandered deliriously to a cafe. I was obviously a mess. Maggie was fine as soon as she touched a coffee cup. ![]() After the cafe we immediately became tourists and spontaneously photographed double decker buses. Oooooh. ![]() Three minutes later, Maggie's coffee wore off and she realized she hadn't slept in a day. But look how awesome that tree is. ... Fast forward through 3 hours of napping after hotel check in ... ![]() HOORAY! We can function again! This is the most comfortable bed I have ever touched!
![]() When we finally got out of bed and decided to leave the room, it was dark. Here are some photos of us wandering. It's hard to see, but there are a lot of big-butted escort adverts in that phone booth. ![]() Fortunately Monty Python taught me to beware roving gangs of Keep Left signs. I was unscathed.
![]() The next day we discovered that our hotel had an adorable patio thing. We sat in it for five minutes and then got too cold and went inside. ![]() We then also found out that we were a block away from a house where Charles Darwin once lived. Now it's part of University College London. ![]() Let's play guitar in a 5-necked-guitar band. ![]() Our nerdiness took us on a journey to find King's Cross Station (which you can see in our Harry Potter section). This was St. Pancras, which is right next door. ![]() After King's Cross, we tried our first British Pub - The Rocket. I like food. ![]() Here are the Royal Courts of Justice, which sound kind of like an enchanted weapon in an RPG. They were on or quite near Fleet Street, though we chose not to get our hair cut there. ![]() Just down the street from the Tower of London was this lovely restaurant. We did not eat there. You can see our Tower of London pictures in this gallery. ![]() The Tower Bridge is right next to London Bridge, but frankly the Tower Bridge is way cooler. Look at its coolness.
![]() One morning we headed South to see the fancy old stuff down there. Our first stop was the London Eye. Below the Eye were a number of interesting street performers.
We could see various things from The Eye, such as the Thames and CLOCK. ![]() Look at me, I'm 100 meters off the ground in a big egg! ![]() Now I have magically returned to the ground! ![]() Brady Sigman: "CLOCK!"
![]() Parliament and its Cromwell statue were quite ornate. ![]() Maggie appears to have enjoyed said ornateness. ![]() I think this was the side of Westminster Abbey, though it's hard to remember because the Abbey was closed when we got there and we couldn't go in or spend any time finding Isaac Newton's tomb. ![]() Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must place it here, beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get a two layer effect with a little path running down the middle.
![]() Buckingham Palace was quite boring, but at least its gates were ornate. The name is misleading, as we saw no hams and they certainly aren't bucking. ![]() Dude's got the most boring job ever. |
